LANSING, Mich., July 2004 - "Hospitality Today: An Introduction," the best-selling textbook by Rocco M. Angelo, CHA, and Andrew N. Vladimir, CHE, has been released in a new, full-color, hardbound edition by the Educational Institute of the American Hotel & Lodging Association.

The fifth edition includes more than 100 color photos, including many full-page images, that showcase the excitement and diversity of today's hospitality industry. New examples, exhibits, hospitality statistics, and Internet references provide students with the most up-to-date information on the industry.

"Hospitality Today: An Introduction" provides readers with a comprehensive look at the spectrum of opportunities in hospitality, as well as an overview of today's hot issues.  The textbook takes a management perspective in introducing readers to the organization and structure of hotels, restaurants, clubs, cruise ships, and casino hotels.  There are chapters on business ethics, franchising, management contracts, and areas of management responsibility such as human resources and sales and marketing.

About the authors: Rocco M. Angelo, CHA, is the associate dean of the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Florida International University, where he has held the Ellsworth M. His clients have included McDonald's, Sonesta Hotels, Loews Hotels, Resorts International, Delta Airlines, Air France, and TravAlaska Tours.
