WCI Communities Selects Starwood's Luxury Collection
as Brand and Operator for The Resort
at Singer Island

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y Aug. 19, 2004 -- Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: HOT) announced that it has been selected by acclaimed U.S. residential developer WCI Communities, Inc. (NYSE: WCI) as the hotel manager for The Resort at Singer Island on Florida's Atlantic beachfront situated just north of Palm Beach. The luxury condominium and hotel will be a member of Starwood's Luxury Collection portfolio of prestigious hotels and is scheduled for completion in early 2007. The hotel, currently under construction, is the first new hotel to be built on Singer Island in at least 20 years.

The 20-story Resort at Singer Island offers residences from $400,000 to more than $3 million with select floor plans still available. In total, the resort will combine a mix of 66 condominium residences and 239 resort units. The resort units, which will compose the majority of The Resort at Singer Island, offer over a dozen different floor plan designs to choose from. These units will range from approximately 800 square feet to just over 1,750 square feet of living space and will be sold fully furnished featuring innovative plans capturing the expansive views of the Atlantic Ocean and Intracoastal Waterway. The acclaimed interior design firm, Hirsch Bedner Associates, headquartered in Atlanta, will create a selection of decorative schemes for owners to choose from.

As a Luxury Collection destination, The Resort at Singer Island plans to offer a spectacular array of amenities. Butler service, valet attendants, and a full-time concierge will enrich guest experiences and activities including coordination of private events, theater tickets, dinner reservations and travel. Dining options include an alfresco ambiance at the oceanside eatery or the convenience of room service, or special events catered within the resort's stunning entertainment veranda - even a temperature controlled wine room will be available to store private wine collections.

Residents and guests will be able to relax upon the white sands of Singer Island with attentive pool and beachside attendants to cater to their individual needs providing everything from plush beach towels and relaxing lounge chairs to tempting frozen libations. Outdoor private cabanas will provide the ultimate afternoon retreat, an ideal place to enjoy a casual poolside lunch.
