| Amersfoort (The Netherlands), 4th August 2004 � Golden Tulip Hotels,
Inns & Resorts announces the appointment of a number of key corporate
executives in the group�s field and central services operations effective
as per 1st August 2004.
Klimis Messios will assume the role of Vice President of Franchise Operations. In this position, Klimis will oversee central disciplines, such as Procurement, Distribution & IT, Marketing Development & Design, Training and Partner Franchising. Klimis joined Golden Tulip in August 2000 and was responsible for marketing, franchise services & sales support, distribution & IT. 11-year Golden Tulip veteran Haike Blaauw will become Vice President of Franchising. In his role, Haike will oversee the field operations in the Benelux Denmark, Central Europe, France/Monaco and the Mediterranean. Field operations consist of franchise services & sales support, regional marketing execution and organic development. All regional directors and their staff will be reporting to Haike. Haike himself will assume the Regional Director of Franchising role for the Benelux. Evelyne Orban has been appointed to the position of Regional Director of Franchising for the French-speaking countries in Europe in addition to her existing role as the group�s Director of Marketing. Eric Hübbers, currently Golden Tulip�s Development Manager for Central Europe has been appointed as Regional Director of Franchising for Central & Eastern Europe. Eric takes over this role as per 1st August 2004. As per the 4th quarter 2004, Golden Tulip will be opening a new office in Lausanne, Switzerland in an effort to co-ordinate the companies initiatives in the French, Mediterranean and Balkan European Republics. The overall intent is to coordinate the Northern and Western European activities from Amersfoort and southern European ones from Lausanne. The headquarters of the group will remain in Amersfoort.
