 Crestline Hotels & Resorts Appoints Gerald F. Barrack
and Craig Hillyard to General Manager Posts

MCLEAN, Va., and ATLANTA, Aug. 24, 2004 - Crestline Hotels & Resorts, Inc. today announced the promotion of Craig Hillyard as General Manager for the Crowne Plaza Ravinia in Atlanta, Georgia.  Mr. Hillyard is a senior executive with over 20 years of hospitality experience and expertise in profit improvement, operations, asset management, strategic planning, revenue management and team development.  Mr. Hillyard has a proven track record with Crestline Hotels and Resorts at the Atlanta Marriott Gwinnett Place, where he was General Manager since 2000.

"We are delighted that Craig has accepted this opportunity to manage one of Atlanta's premiere hotels," said Dave Durbin, President and CEO of Crestline Hotels & Resorts.  "The Crowne Plaza Ravinia is adjacent to the corporate headquarters of Intercontinental Hotels Group and is an extremely important hotel for the parent brand as well as for Crestline.  We know that with Craig's superior performance record he will insure the continued excellence of this property," added Durbin.

Mr. Hillyard holds a Bachelor of Science degree from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, where he graduated at the top of his class with a degree in Hotel Administration.  He has been with Crestline Hotels & Resorts since 2000 where he has excelled as the General Manager of the Atlanta Marriott Gwinnett Place.  During his tenure, he grew market penetration by 20 index points over a two-year period.  Prior to the Marriott, he was General Manager for Starwood Hotels & Resorts at the Westin Atlanta North and the Sheraton Colony Square Hotel, both located in Atlanta.  Prior to moving to Atlanta, he was a General Manager with Interstate Hotels Corporation at the Valley Forge Marriott Suites in PA.  Mr. Hillyard began his hospitality career with ITT-Sheraton Corporation in 1982.  He has recently been recognized by Marriott for his "Superior Owner Relations" and was recognized in 2002 by the Gwinnett Convention and Visitors Bureau as "General Manager of the Year." Also Crestline Hotels & Resorts, Inc. today announced the appointment of Gerald F. Barrack as General Manager for the Hilton Hotel Parsippany, New Jersey.  Mr. Barrack, a native of New Zealand who has 20 years of hospitality and management experience, previously worked with Crestline Hotels & Resorts in Wichita, KS.

"Gerald brings a solid track record of excellence in hotel management, guest relations and team supervision to his position with Crestline," said Dave Durbin, President and CEO of Crestline Hotels and Resorts.  "His experience in successfully growing revenue, coupled with his personnel management skills, is a combination that will create a winning environment at the Hilton Parsippany," added Durbin.

Mr. Barrack re-joins Crestline from Hyatt Hotels, where he was the General Manager of the Hyatt Regency, Wichita since 1999.  Prior to that position, he was the resident manager at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott in Norfolk, VA, a former Crestline-managed hotel.  He began his hospitality industry career in his native New Zealand as a management trainee at the Regent of Auckland.  He also worked in Hawaii and Australia, as well as various other positions with leading hotels on the mainland US.  He is a graduate of the Barton School of Business in Wichita, KS, and of the New Plymouth Boys High School in New Zealand.  Barrack has several industry designations and has been active in the civic and business community in Wichita.  Mr. Barrack can be reached at 973-267-7373 or by email at [email protected].
