Sydney Joung to Lead Sales and Marketing
Efforts for the Amalfi Hotel Chicago

CHICAGO, IL – April 30, 2004 – Paul Drummond, general manager for the Amalfi Hotel Chicago, announced today that Sydney Joung, 32, has joined the management team as director of business development and image.  The 215-room property, located at 20 W. Kinzie, is the flagship hotel for a new concept that marked its “soft” opening in February.
 
“I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to build a new brand in a vibrant city, where the stylish boutique hotel concept has not overly saturated the marketplace,” said Joung.  “We’re confident that the design, genuine service, and value-added amenities including a complimentary breakfast and cocktail reception, will inspire our guests to return time and again,” she added.

Joung will manage all sales and marketing, oversee catering, and manage daily communication with the on-site reservations and revenue management team.  She recently served as a sales

and marketing contractor for the Kimpton Boutique Hotels in Washington, D.C., and as director of sales and marketing for The Jefferson, a Loews Hotel, in D.C.
