U.S. Channel Partner Program |
BETHEL, CT May 24, 2004 Merlot Communications,
Inc., today announced the launch of its U.S. channel partner program. This
program is an integral part of Merlots mission to empower property owners
with a more reliable, innovative and cost-effective High Speed Internet
Access (HSIA) solution. Merlots solution uses a propertys existing telephone
system wiring to provide guaranteed high bandwidth connections to the Internet
while allowing simultaneous voice communications.
With the international channel partner program successfully underway in Latin America and Europe, Merlot named Joan Panagos to lead the U.S. channel partner initiative to extend Merlots reach for accelerated growth and allow an aggressive focus on new markets such as HealthCare and Multi-Dwelling Units (MDUs). Previously, Ms. Panagos was responsible for building domestic channels for UUNET and MCI WorldCom. We are excited to have Joan join the Merlot team and look forward to the contributions she will make as we continue to grow the company, said Jose Colagrossi, Merlot Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. We pride ourselves on the ability to offer quality products with superior customer service. When we needed a flexible and reliable HSIA product, we wanted an outstanding one, with a company that would stand behind it and we found that with Merlot, said Ryan Kelly, Sales Director of IPQuest. IPQuest, located in Georgia, is a solution provider specializing in implementing HSIA in the Multi-Dwelling Unit and Hotel markets and recently signed on to resell Merlot products. Our partnership with Merlot helps us satisfy the bandwidth demands of HSIA in the hospitality industry, said Alan Belvo, President of Zirkel Wireless. Zirkel Wireless is a communications provider to homes and businesses throughout Colorado, and has successfully delivered single fixed wireless connections to hundreds of subscribers. The growing standard for the hospitality industry is to have HSIA available in every guest room. We have identified this demand as the largest growth area for our company, and after careful research, we determined that Merlot has the best HSIA solution that will handle bandwidth needs well into the future. Merlots success in 2003 proves that the Hospitality, HealthCare and Multi-Dwelling Units industries are embracing the business-driving benefits of efficient and affordable Internet access, said Merlots Colagrossi. In 2004, with the addition of our channel partner programs, we will build on our success by continuing to offer our customers easy-to-use, cost-effective Internet solutions, as well as future applications such as digital Video on Demand, Video Conferencing, IP Video Surveillance and SmartRoom applications. About Merlot Communications
