Milwaukee, Wis. — (May 17, 2004) Whether it’s watering flowers to keep the landscaping looking nice, helping out in laundry, fixing a leaky toilet or working as the morning breakfast attendant, Betty Price always is willing to provide a helping hand.  Yet, Price is a front desk associate at the Baymont Inn & Suites — Albuquerque.  With more that 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Price’s customer service can’t be beat.

So, too, thought the judges at the New Mexico Lodgers Association when they recognized Price with not only their annual “Front Office Employee of the Year” award, but also the “New Mexico Lodgers Association Employee of the Year” award, the state association’s highest honor.  The awards were presented during the association’s recent annual meeting in Albuquerque.

Since May 2002, Betty Price has made a difference in the lives of many guests and visitors of the Baymont Inn & Suites-Albuquerque.

“When weary travelers or corporate guests check-in, each look forward to being welcome by ‘Miss Betty as they call her,” said Deborah Castillo, general manager of the Baymont Inn & Suites.  “Betty’s work ethic, her drive to see the hotel succeed and her team leadership are reflected in the many comment cards and letter received both at the local level and at the Baymont Inns & Suites’ Corporate Office in Milwaukee.” 

“Betty is truly a remarkable individual who embodies all that we want from our associates,” said Jim Abrahamson, president and chief operating officer for Baymont Inns, Inc.  “She provides outstanding customer service that exceeds the expectations of each and every guest visiting Albuquerque and the Land of Enchantment.”

Gail Delong, area sales manager for Baymont Inns & Suites, was recognized with a bronze “Sales Employee of the Year” award during the New Mexico Lodgers Association’s annual meeting.  Delong provides hotel sales expertise to the Baymont Inns & Suites in Albuquerque and Las Cruces, New Mexico, and two Baymont Inns & Suites in El Paso, Texas, as well.  That’s four hotels, in two states, with more than 250 miles between them.

“Gail does a fantastic job selling the hotels,” said Victor Delgado, district director for Baymont Inns, Inc.  “She is truly one of the few salespeople who actually get it.  People don’t visit New Mexico or Texas because of a particular hotel to stay at; they come to enjoy the beauty and culture these states have to offer.  When she’s out selling, she not only sells the Baymont brand, she sells Albuquerque, Las Cruces, El Paso and the beautiful southwest.”
