PAPEETE, TAHITI June 11, 2004 The Radisson Plaza Resort Tahiti, in keeping with its strong focus on guest service, has entered into its final phase of an intensive employee training program in anticipation of the resorts opening on July 1, 2004.

Headed by Director of Human Resources Gilles Maury, and in partnership with the AFOMETH Institute, which specializes in hotel employee training in French Polynesia, the three-week training program began on site last month, covering topics from hotel operations and local regulations to the employee handbook, hotel inspections and fire security.  All employees participated in a seminar on Welcoming & Quality in the Hospitality Business conducted by Nelson Levy, general manager of Tahiti Nui Telecommunications.

key Radisson core training programs Yes I Can!, Making It Right and 100% Guest Satisfaction, which are designed to instill in each employee the importance of outstanding service.  The training covers areas including guest satisfaction, specific operational and skills-based training and an awareness of personal, guest and company security.

General Manager Philippe Guitton said, Offering superb guest service is one of the main goals of this resort.  This thorough training program ensures that our employees will take pride in offering the very best in service and that they will be equipped with the skills to guarantee that our guests needs are not only anticipated but exceeded.

Stylish New Uniforms By Ranier Design Group Arrive

Employees in housekeeping, food and beverage, front office and reservations also welcomed the arrival of the employee uniforms.  The uniforms were designed by Australian-based Ranier Design Group, who has also created uniforms for Las Vegas Caesars Palace, as well as various Orient Express, Marriott and Four Seasons properties.

The uniforms feature all-natural fibers that were chosen to accommodate the humid climate and also create a fresh, summery look in keeping with the resorts island ambiance.  Subtle earth tones and pastel colors complement the resorts natural surroundings and a shell motif embroidery is featured on the sleeve or hem.

Caroline Casaceli, director of design for Ranier Design Group, said, Our ultimate objective is for the uniforms to be stylish and captivating, yet functional and comfortable.  Ultimately, we feel the design of the Radisson Plaza Resort Tahitis uniforms portray the simple elegance and natural charm of this new luxury resort.

The Radisson Plaza Resort Tahiti, the first upscale hotel to open in Tahiti since 1997, is the only hotel adjacent to Lafayette Beach, a black sand beach spanning 2,600 feet.  The 165-room resort features 86 ocean-view rooms, 53 suites and 26 duplex suites.  All rooms overlook the water with scenic views and large balconies.  The resort will feature an all-day dining restaurant, a pool bar, a terrace bar, large conference and function facilities, a state-of-the-art spa and health club and will also offer an array of water sports.
