System to Distribution Channel Integration at HITEC channel updates happen before your eyes. |
Dallas, TX (June 23, 2004)
- At booth 113 at HITEC this year, you can see a much talked about multi-vendor
demonstration in which a hotel property management system is fully integrated
to a web-based booking engine and GDS representation company.
Attendees can book a room at the Blue Square Studios booth on their Hotel Site Toolkit reservation engine in booth 115, then walk next door to the Hotel Booking Solutions (booth 113) and see that the reservation has been deposited directly into the Brilliant PMS (booth 1250) running right in the booth. By the time attendees have walked from one booth to the next, the Brilliant PMS has already confirmed the reservation and returned the hotel confirmation number to the reservation engine. HBS hobooBox then automatically updates Lexingtons CRS with the new availability and rates and pushes this out to the GDSs and other Lexington (booth 420) connected distribution channels. Weve been waiting for this type of interoperability for ten years, said Rita Emmer, VP of Strategic Development for VIP International. Were very excited that HBS accomplished this with one of our systems. "Now all lodging properties have the ability to leverage the same online capabilities that have been the affordable by only the larger upscale brand names, said Patrick van der Wardt, Managing Partner of Brilliant Hotelsoftware. Brilliant Hotelsoftware Inc is excited to be one of the first PM systems vendors to offer real time GDS and private web site connectivity into its Brilliant suite of products." Since the PMS interface is fully two-way, benefits to hoteliers are tremendous. Not only does the hotel achieve labor savings by not having to type faxed reservations into the reservation system, but rates can truly be managed right in the PMS for all channels, since hobooBox will take the rates directly from the PMS. No more extranets, no more daily management of rates and inventory. For a 200 room property, a fully integrated hobooBox solution delivers thousands per month in labor savings and increases in RevPAR of 15 37% - thus the return on investment is tremendous. "We are excited to be a part of this seamless integration between four systems at the HITEC. It shows our commitment to making things easy and more efficient for the hotelier", said Shane Ettestad, President of Blue Square Studios. The industry leading solution allows for management by allotment, but exceeds in providing a true multi-channel free sell environment that hoteliers have been waiting for. The hobooBox channel management components provide automatic rate parity for websites and other distribution channels, and support a wide variety of booking policies. There is even a rate escalation feature that allows hobooBox to tap into additional inventory on the fly when a channel sells out, but additional rooms are still available. The interfaces are capable of supporting products that can be sold ala carte on websites or complete guest packages, increasing the revenue per guest for the hotel. Current customers use this for a variety of services, from bottles of champagne and boxes of chocolates, to pre-arranged spa services all bookable online. This is truly an exciting demonstration as it not only shows the flexibility and interoperability of our hobooBox product, but also because it showcases four different HITEC vendors with different hotel product sets that have worked together to provide a fully automated solution usable right on the show floor, said Stephen Burke, VP of Business Development for Hotel Booking Solutions.
