 Slohat Hotels L.P. Begins $5 million Renovation of
The Doubletree(R) Hotel Houston-Allen Center

HOUSTON - June 29, 2004 -- The Doubletree(R) Hotel Houston-Allen Center, located in the heart of the "new" downtown Houston, today announced the beginning of a $5 million hotelwide renovation, which is anticipated to be completed in the first quarter of 2005. When the project is finished, this Doubletree hotel will offer guests a new health club as well as a renovated ballroom, refurbished guest room bathrooms and significant upgrades to the hotel's services and amenities.
 
This is part of a six-hotel renovation project by Slohat Hotels L.P. a joint venture of affiliates of USAA Real Estate CO. and Hilton Hotels Corporation (NYSE:HLT), that begins this summer and continues through early next year. Other hotels in this enhancement project include the Doubletree Hotel Houston-Post Oak, the Doubletree Hotel Anaheim/Orange County in California, the Doubletree Hotel Tulsa Downtown, the Doubletree Hotel & Conference Center St. Louis and the Doubletree Hotel Overland Park-Corporate Woods in Kansas. The hotels are managed by DT Management, Inc., an affiliate of Hilton Hotels Corporation.

hotel general manager. "Our guests will soon be able to enjoy a hotel that offers numerous enhancements designed to make their stays all the more enjoyable and productive."

Upon conclusion of the renovation, the atmosphere at the Doubletree Hotel Houston-Allen Center will reflect an elegant, transitional style that is rich in warm colors and millwork. The hotel ballroom will undergo a complete makeover with the height of the ceiling being raised from 11 feet to an overall height of 13 1/2 feet. Three custom-designed, fluted, oval chandeliers will grace the newly raised ceiling of the ballroom. New wall and floor coverings for the ballroom will reflect a regal red and gold color scheme with the carpet featuring stylized floral patterns with geometric accents. In addition, the ballroom's pre-function space will also be refurbished in a style and manner that allows it to flow smoothly in to the ballroom with corresponding carpeting, chandeliers and furniture.

A new Fitness Center will be built on the 4th floor of the Doubletree Hotel Houston-Allen Center. The new Fitness Center will feature city and courtyard views from floor to ceiling windows and will have state-of-the-art workout equipment.

As part of the renovation all guest room bathrooms will be redone to include new wall coverings, wall sconces, floor tile, vanity tops, sink bowls, curved shower rods and shower curtains.

Several other areas of the Doubletree Hotel Houston-Allen Center are scheduled to benefit from the planned renovations including the lobby bar which will be transformed with the addition of new carpeting, window treatments and upholstered furniture as well as the hotel's boardroom meeting facilities which will receive new furnishings as well as new carpeting, wall covering and lighting.

The Doubletree Hotel Houston-Allen Center is centrally located in the business and financial district with sky-bridges connecting the hotel with Allen Center 1, 2, and 3 and the Chevron Building. The Doubletree also is connected to Houston's underground tunnel system, which is a network that connects the entire downtown area. The world renowned Medical District is only 3 miles away.

The Doubletree Hotel Houston-Allen Center offers complimentary high speed internet access in each of its 350 guest rooms. The hotel features 18,000 sq. ft. of meeting space and can accommodate groups of up to 500 people.
