French Chefs Jacques and Laurent Pourcel Partner with
the Dusit Thani for New Restaurant Modeled after the
Le Jardin des Sens in Montpellier, France
.
June 11, 2004 - French Fine Dining reaches new heights in Bangkok this month (June 22) with the opening of D'Sens at the Dusit Thani Hotel.

This remarkable new restaurant has been modeled on the famous Le Jardin des Sens in Montpellier in France, just one of 27 restaurants in France to have been awarded three Michelin stars.

DSens is the concept of Jacques and Laurent Pourcel, the legendary twin brothers from Languedoc, who created Le Jardin des Sens and earned it the culinary world's ultimate accolade. Their names are synonymous with French dining at its finest and their unique cooking style has been hailed

Jacques and Laurent Pourcel
by gourmets in many different countries.

Now the 'Freres Pourcel' have brought the same passion for culinary excellence to Bangkok in D'Sens.  In partnership with the Dusit Thani, they are presenting a restaurant that reflects their extraordinary range of talents.

We are extremely proud to offer our clients and guests a restaurant of such high international quality and reputation, commented Mr Stanley Pao, General Manager of the Dusit Thani. Theres no doubt DSens will rank at the very top of Bangkoks finest French restaurants.

Jacques and Laurent Pourcel are exceptionally talented chefs and their skills have been duly recognised by the three stars awarded by Michelin. I really believe that Bangkok diners are in for a very special culinary treat at DSens.

The menu at D'Sens is greatly influenced by the brothers' Mediterranean home province of Languedoc in the South of France. Capturing the spirit of their other restaurants highly successful ventures, it combines ingredients from land and sea. Dishes are high in taste, aromatic, spicy and full of personality.

Although the Pourcels have also chosen to use mostly imported products at D'Sens, some specially selected Thai ingredients have been carefully blended into many of their traditional recipes. The result is a truly memorable dining experience of exciting tastes and dramatic flavours.

To create a restaurant décor that complements both the cuisine and sophistication of D'Sens, the brothers recruited the services of Imaad Rhamouni, the same brilliant architect who worked on the Pourcels' other projects in Montpellier, Avignon and Paris. His designs are inspirational and include a superb illuminated bar, classic furniture and tableware, all of which build an ambience that is cool, chic and cutting edge.

D'Sens is a timeless restaurant in that its appeal crosses all age barriers. Both young and old will feel comfortable here.

Set menus are featured for business lunch and dinner. The wine list includes some of the finest varieties and labels available in the region.

With its unique culinary background, superb menu and endless panoramic views of Bangkok, D'Sens offers the ultimate dining experience.
