Belmonte, Founder, President and C.E.O. of Hospitality Solutions LLC, based
here, will deliver the keynote address at the Washington State Hotel &
Lodging Association�s Annual Convention in October. In keeping with the
convention�s theme, �Training for Peak Performance,� Belmonte�s address
will focus on the importance of leadership�both in creating a service culture
in a hotel or hotel company, and in developing leadership skills through
motivation rather than through organizational control.
�It�s an honor to be chosen as the WSH&LA�s keynote speaker,� Belmonte said. �Training and leadership are key components to growth in the lodging industry�or in any endeavor, for that matter�and it�s the association�s recognition of that fact in their convention�s theme that makes it even more of an honor to be chosen as keynote speaker.� Following the keynote, Belmonte will host a workshop titled: �Franchisor and Franchisee: The Ultimate Love Hate Relationship,� a focus on many franchise issues, including: �Are All Franchisors Alike?�, �Structuring A Fair Franchise Agreement�, �Maximizing The Benefits Of Your Franchise Company�, �The Benefits/Downfall Of Potential Flag Changes� and more. By popular demand . . . In April, Belmonte delivered the keynote address at the Suburban Franchise Systems annual conference in Atlanta. His message: �Success through service and strength through quality and consistency.� In December, Belmonte will deliver the annual Best Value Inn National Educational Conference & Trade Show for the second consecutive year. To be held at the Monte Carlo Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Belmonte will provide members with insight on the benefits of bringing family values to hospitality. Belmonte, who started working in hotels as a teenager, became a general manager at the age of 18, then later as co-founder and c.e.o. of Equity Hotel Corp. in Chicago operating approximately 35 hotels in 14 states. In 1991, Belmonte became President and C.E.O. of Ramada Franchise Systems, and then founded Hospitality Solutions LLC, which offers franchise-agreement formulations, termination-negotiation assistance, mediation, expert-witness and consulting services, asset management, renovations, financing assistance, executive retreats, sales-and-marketing training and special projects/new corporate initiatives. Belmonte also serves on the Board of Directors of Arlington Hospitality, a hotel management firm based in Arlington Heights, Ill. Along with Arlington Hospitality President and C.E.O. Jerry Herman, Belmonte earlier this week accepted the HVS Lodging Leadership Award for Board Performance, which annually honors the lodging industry�s top board off directors. The award was presented June 7 during the 26th Annual New York University International Hospitality Industry Investment Conference in New York.
