UniFocus Gives a Big Texas �Howdy� to
The Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center

DALLAS � April 1, 2004  � UniFocus takes Texas pride in welcoming The Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center on the eve of its April 2 grand opening, noting that it is particularly special to have the newest addition to the Gaylord property family in its hometown, the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. UniFocus is also pleased to be a single-source provider of key performance measures for the new resort as it sets out to delight its guests.

The Gaylord Texan, located in Grapevine, Tex., just six-miles from the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, will fulfill its Texas-sized expectations when its first guests arrive.  An 80-foot gold star tops the atrium�s glass roof where underneath lies four-and-a-half acres of lush gardens filled with Lone Star State lore.  Sitting on the banks of Lake Grapevine, the complex comes with 400,000 square-feet of meeting space, 1,511 hotel rooms, and a world-class European spa, in addition to other amenities.  The Gaylord Texan employs some 1,900 persons to keep it all running smoothly. 

UniFocus� partnership with The Gaylord Texan reflects its industry-leading commitment to exceeding guest expectations that has been so successful for other Gaylord properties.  It involves UniFocus delivering a truly balanced operational perspective through the integration of measurement and performance management systems.  To support this, UniFocus uniquely provides:

  • Daily assessment of service standards related to the guests� experiences
  • Ongoing correlations of employee sentiment measurements to guest satisfaction scores
  • Assessment of meeting planner perspectives and their relationship to meeting service standards, attitudes of meeting attendees and the hotel staff they interact with.
UniFocus is specifically providing the following services to The Gaylord Texan:
  • The staffing and scheduling of Gaylord Texan�s 1,900 employees is being coordinated by UniFocus� Watson, R.M.� Labor management applications suite.   Watson, R.M. plans and forecasts staffing solutions to optimize service delivery. 
  • Guest satisfaction is being monitored and measured by UniFocus� GUESTScope�, a system that assesses and promotes guest loyalty.  With this system, Gaylord Texan will be reviewing daily guest feedback information so it can fulfill its goal of exceeding visitors� expectations, particularly in the critical opening period. 
  • Gaylord Texan�s management team will be utilizing UniFocus� STAFFScope� to measure and ensure positive employee attitudes contribute to guests� satisfaction.  UniFocus uniquely correlates staff attitude measurements to their impact on guest satisfaction, service delivery and guest loyalty. 
  • Meeting planners using the Texan�s conference services will have their quality experiences ensured by UniFocus� MEETINGScope�, a relationship management system for this key source of revenue.  The Dallas Convention & Visitors Bureau recently put in place a market-wide quality assurance program using MEETINGScope.
