CHICAGO— APRIL 12, 2004 — A new conference recognizing the complexities of hotel ownership is nearing capacity as the premier event quickly approaches this month in New York.
"The Essentials of Hotel Ownership," produced by Lodging Unlimited, Lodging Unlimited West, Hospitality Solutions LLC and Belmonte-Lasky Asset Management, and hosted by Morris Lasky, John Cauvin and Steve Belmonte respectively, is scheduled as an all-day event on April 23 at The Waldorf-Astoria Hotel. At press time, attendance was nearing its 80-person capacity, with more than 70 institutional lenders, attorneys, investors and brokers registered.
"There is a great deal involved in hotel ownership, and based on early registration figures, there seems to be a real demand for education in this area," Lasky said. "With decades of experience in lodging ownership, management and operations, and in turning around the performance of an underachieving property, my colleagues and I will provide essential information that will make it possible for all those involved in hospitality, from a behind-the-scenes, investment or ownership standpoint, to enhance the performance and overall long-term value of a property.”
The impetus for the conference, Belmonte said, comes from a desire to do what he, Lasky and Cauvin can do in order to improve the overall health of the lodging industry.
"Our industry is facing a tough challenge in finding quality, competent, reliable managers," Belmonte said.
