MCLEAN, VA (April 23, 2004) The 2004 HSMAI Chapter Leadership Forum, which was just held in Chicago, recognized the Best-of-the-Best in chapter practices from over 78 entries (the largest amount to date) from 19 chapters from across the Americas.

The 24th Annual HSMAI Frank W. Berkman Chapter Awards Program was presented at the Leadership Forum, attended by HSMAI leaders representing both chapters in the Americas, as well as members of the HSMAI Board of Directors.

The competition (for the 2003 calendar year) awarded winners in nine categories (recognizing both large and small chapters): Awards & Recognition, Communications, Community Involvement, Educational Programming, Fundraising, Leadership, Partnership Development, Membership Retention and Development and Web Sites.

Gilbert, CHME, CHA, president and CEO of HSMAI.  Furthermore, it serves as a referral source for chapters to learn about and be inspired by what their peers are doing, and at the same time, challenges them to be even more creative and innovative in their programming and initiatives, he added.

The Best-of-the-Best presentation is used to inspire and guide all HSMAI chapters to raise the bar of their chapter operation.  All 78 entries were on display at the Leadership Forum.
