Alan S. Maltz Captures Floridas Essence
.
KEY WEST, Fla. - April 12, 2004 - Sunrises and sunsets, white sand beaches, flowing rivers and the lush wildlife of Floridas landscape have inspired famed Florida artist Alan S. Maltz for more than two decades.   Now, Maltz is combining his unique vision with state tourism officials to shed a new light on how visitors see Florida.

Maltz unique style and interpretation led VISIT FLORIDA to proclaim him their official fine art photographer.  In this role, Maltz is producing a collection of vibrant images capturing the wonder and beauty of the worlds premier visitor destination.  These images are being featured in an award winning advertising campaign and will be published in FloridaBeyond the Blue Horizon, a new coffee table book set for release next year.  These images will also be used in other state marketing efforts and be made available for journalists writing articles about Florida.

When Hawk's Cay Resort, in the Florida Keys, looked to complete their renovations they knew they needed to look no further than Maltz.  His work created the image and style they were seeking and provided the finishing touch.   Maltz' images now grace the walls in all of the resort's hotel rooms and common areas.   The resort is not alone in using Maltz' work to create an atmosphere.  The American Airlines Arena in Miami, home to NBA's Miami Heat, also showcases his work for visitors to absorb.

Maltz is also currently working on a project for the Lee County Visitor and Convention Bureau.  He is capturing the beauty of the beaches of Sanibel and Captiva Islands and the incredible wildlife of Southwest Florida.  His images will be used in a new book and will be on permanent exhibition in the new terminal of Southwest Florida International Airport.

Maltz recently wrapped up shooting the new international advertising campaign for the Florida Keys & Key West tourist development council.

Maltz creates fine art photography with a 35mm camera and slide film.  This self-taught artist seldom uses filters to achieve his final vision.  Instead, Maltz relies on the natural light and beauty of the moment.   He transforms these inspired moments into works of art that have the same visual impact as a fine oil painting.  His images are printed on the finest canvas utilizing a seven color archival-pigmented ink state-of-the-art printing process.
