Wailea Resort Hotel & Spa welcomes a new director of group sales to
the resort's sales team, Michael Consuelo. As a Certified Hospitality Marketing
Executive (CHME), Grand Wailea Resort is pleased to add an experienced
veteran to their sales team of professionals.
"We are very pleased to have Michael join the Grand Wailea Resort sales team," said Patrick Blangy, director of sales and marketing at Grand Wailea Resort. "His extensive knowledge will help us further the process of securing more group and conference business to the Grand Wailea Resort." Michael Consuelo's experience spans 27 years in the hospitality industry. Most recently, Consuelo was the group and convention sales director at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. During his time at Disneyland Resort, Consuelo was responsible for generating over $21 million in room revenue from the convention market and increased the Resort's average daily convention rate (ADR) by 11% each year. Before Disneyland Resort, Consuelo's experience included director of sales at the Sheraton Saratoga Springs Hotel in New York where he oversaw the operation of the entire sales department including convention services and catering sales. At Grand Wailea Resort, Consuelo will be responsible for overseeing a team of nine sales managers.
