  Michael Burchett Named General Manager
of Conrad Bali Resort & Spa

BALI (January 20, 2004) � Michael James Burchett has been named General Manager of Conrad's newest luxury resort, Conrad Bali Resort & Spa, consisting of 313 rooms & suites and 20 private villas. This luxury resort is scheduled to open in March 2004.

A 28-year hospitality veteran, Burchett began his hospitality career with Rank Hotels Ltd. UK, in London, for 5 years.  He then joined Regent International Hotels (Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts), with whom he dedicated 17 years, from 1980-1997, in senior management positions, project management and four openings (two as General Manager, Four Seasons Resort Bali, one of the world's top 10 Resorts By Condé Nast Traveller UK in 2002 and The Regent Jakarta). He returned to his hometown of Perth, Western Australia for two years in 1997, followed by projects and appointments in India, Singapore and Thailand with Carlson Group (Regent International Hotels), Beaufort Singapore and Royal Garden Resorts as Vice President Operations.

Burchett was born in Perth, Western Australia. His career in the hotel business was determined early while working in his family's hotels in Western Australia. After completing school, he studied Commerce for two years at the University of Western Australia, before traveling to London for a traineeship with Rank Hotels Ltd.
