Craig Chandler Appointed to Head the National
Sales Program for Suburban Franchise Systems

.

ATLANTA, - January 13, 2004 - Vice President of Business Development Craig Chandler was recently appointed to head the national sales program for Suburban Franchise Systems (SFS).  In this new capacity, he will lead the task force initiative to generate new sales revenue for chain-wide profitability.

"After becoming a franchisee-owned company in May of 2002, Suburban Extended Stay Hotels set aggressive goals for growing the brand and its customer base," said Kevin Lewis, president of SFS. "Over the last year, Craig has served as our VP of business development and has made tremendous strides in building our corporate accounts. In order to continue this momentum, the next logical step was to develop a national sales program that will focus on building business relationships and create additional sales revenue for our properties."

The results from the 2003 Customer Profile Research as well as franchisee input were used to identify target audiences that have the highest demand for Suburban Extended Stay Hotels.  The program will primarily involve developing national alliances and ties with associations that reach these audiences that have a need for economy, extended-stay lodging.  In addition, one-on-one appointments, telemarketing, trade shows and direct mail will further support the goals of the program.

Chandler's background as Director of Franchise Administration with GuestHouse International for seven years and working for SFS since it's inception in 2002 provided him valuable insight in developing this program. In addition, he recently completed strategic marketing consultation for underperforming hotels in the system to create a chain-wide sales and marketing plan that will be administered through the Franchise Support division of the company.

A leader in the economy extended stay-lodging segment, Suburban Franchise Systems, Inc. is an Atlanta-based, franchisee-owned company, which owns and operates 63 Suburban Extended Stay Hotels throughout the United States.
