The Hotel Bothwell, a Clarion Collection hotel is a welcome addition to our system, said Michael J. Ludden, senior director and brand manager, Clarion Brand Hotels. This unique, historic hotel has upscale room amenities and hotel features and bears all the distinctive hallmarks of the Clarion Collection line. The Hotel Bothwell, a center of business and social activity for decades, is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. In fact in early May, 1934, in the lobby of the Hotel Bothwell, Harry Truman learned that he had been selected as candidate for the U.S. Senate by Kansas City political boss Tom Pendergast. Truman, twice elected to the U.S. Senate, later became the 33rd president of the U.S. Originally opened in 1927, the Hotel Bothwells public areas and guest rooms feature historic décor and classic architectural details. The hotel has 48 rooms that feature full, queen or king size beds and 1920s bathrooms with original marble tile floors. Every guest room has been richly appointed with plush linens, nightly turn down service, bottled water, a vanity mirror, in-room coffee maker, 25-inch TV, telephone with data port, iron and ironing board. There are also two-room family suites, the owners suite and garden tub suites. The owners suite has a king size bed, fireplace, sofa/hide a bed, bathrobes and two full bathrooms. The Garden Tub Suite has a queen size sleigh-style bed, a two-person jetted hot tub, bathrobes and a separate shower and dressing area. A complimentary continental breakfast is available to each guest as well as a copy of a local newspaper. Hotel features include an Art Deco atrium lobby, the del-Amici fine-dining restaurant, the Speakeasy Lounge, a Gourmet Coffee shop featuring fresh baked pastries and authentic cappuccinos and lattes and a gift shop. The del-Amici restaurant features American and Italian cuisine for lunch and dinner. The hotels Grand Ballroom has terrazzo floors, gold-trimmed cornices, double chandeliers and banquet/meeting space capable of accommodating 150 people. There is also a boardroom for small groups of up to 25. The Hotel Bothwell is centrally situated in the heart of the Sedalia business district across the street from the Pettis County Courthouse and near the Missouri State Fair Grounds, Scott Joplin International Festival and Daum Museum of Contemporary Arts. Clarion brand hotels are franchised by Choice Hotels International (NYSE: CHH), one of the worlds largest lodging franchisors. |
