Buffalos Pillars Hotel Re-flagged as a Doubletree
Club Hotel Following $500,000 in Renovations
.
ARLINGTON, Va., February 6, 2003 Interstate Hotels & Resorts (NYSE: IHR), the nations largest independent hotel management company, today announced that Buffalos Pillars Hotel recently was flagged as a Doubletree Club hotel, one of the Hilton hotel family of brands.  The 100-room hotel is owned by Med Inn Centers of America, LLC, based in Merrillville, Ind., which invested more than $500,000 in renovations to the property to conform to Doubletrees Club brand standards, including its signature Club Room.

Our high-tech and comfort amenities in the Club Room and throughout the hotel will have broad appeal in Buffalos downtown medical corridor said Elaine Sarkis, general manager.  Also, as a Doubletree hotel, we now are part of the Hilton family, which entitles our guests to all the advantages and benefits of the HiltonHonors guest frequency program.  This is a powerful guest incentive and represents a significant competitive advantage in our market.

Opened originally in January 1999, the property is situated in the heart of Western New Yorks fast-growing medical corridor.  The centerpiece of the corridor is The Buffalo Life Sciences Center, a state-of-the-art life sciences cluster in downtown Buffalo being developed with funding from a $300 million public-private partnership.

Located at 125 High Street, the eight-story Doubletree Club Hotel-Buffalo Downtown offers easy access to the Buffalo Niagara International Airport and is convenient to Interstate 90, the Peace Bridge to Canada, Niagara Falls, as well as a number of local shopping malls and other area attractions.  The property also is near the financial, sports, entertainment, theater and medical campus of Buffalo.
Guests can unwind after a busy day in Doubletrees signature Club Room, which features high-speed Internet access, comfortable seating and the latest stock quotes.  The Club Room can accommodate meetings and functions for groups ranging from two to 50 people.  The property also features a 24-hour fitness center, 24-hour laundry center or same-day valet service and Western New Yorks only Au Bon Pain restaurant, offering guests a full complement of fresh baked bagels, pastries and breads every morning, as well as gourmet sandwiches, salads and soups.

Guestroom accommodations include standard guest rooms and suites, featuring comfortable double or king-sized beds, a sitting area with recliner, a well-lit work area with a spacious desk, two telephones, each with two lines, dataport and voicemail, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, iron and ironing board.

Interstate Hotels & Resorts operates approximately 300 hospitality properties with more than 63,000 rooms in 40 states, the District of Columbia, Canada, Russia and Portugal.  BridgeStreet Corporate Housing Worldwide, an Interstate Hotels & Resorts subsidiary, is one of the worlds largest corporate housing providers, offering upscale, fully furnished corporate housing throughout the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France and 39 additional countries through its network partners.  For more information about Interstate Hotels & Resorts, visit the companys Web site:  www.ihrco.com.
