Onity Offers Services to Cendant
Franchisees at No Capital Cost

.

PARSIPPANY, N.J. (Feb. 2, 2004) Cendant Corporations Hotel Group has announced an agreement with Onity to offer electronic locks and other services at no capital cost to Super 8®, Days Inn®, Ramada®, Travelodge®, Howard Johnson®, Knights Inn®, Villager, Wingate Inn® and AmeriHost Inn® franchisees.

Under the agreement, Onity, formerly TESA Entry Systems Inc., will offer Cendants hotel franchisees electronic guest-room door locks, energy management systems, black-mold prevention service and closed-circuit television security surveillance systems on a pay-per-rented-room basis through its HTFree and EquipFree programs.

The HTFree system allows franchisees to install Onitys HT-series electronic locks without making a capital investment, paying a fee only when a guest room is rented.  The EquipFree system provides a similar payment model for franchisees who wish to install Onity HT electronic locks and take advantage of one or more other Onity services.

Franchisees pay HTFree and EquipFree fees to Onity using a debit card or credit card.  All equipment, installation, training, supplies, warranty, technical support and repairs are included in the program.

Onity has been a loyal supplier to Cendant franchisees for more than 10 years, said Doug Patterson, Hotel Group executive vice president and chief operating officer.  We recognize the benefit of working with Onity as a single-source supplier of security and energy systems for our franchisees.

Pascal Metivier, Onity vice president of global sales and marketing, said Cendant is the first hotel company to offer HTFree and EquipFree programs systemwide, adding: Owners and operators of all sizes, brands and budgets can upgrade their security and energy-management technology simply and affordably by partnering with Onity.

Metivier said that unlike a lease, the average monthly cost of Onitys HTFree and EquipFree programs directly corresponds to a hotels occupancy rates.  If a guest room is not rented, there is no charge, he said.  We share the occupancy risk with our No Guest No CostTM program.

Onity is a leading provider of electronic locking systems and offers technological products and services for the hospitality, corporate, education, government and marine markets including electronic locks, related Smart Card products, in-room safes, closed-circuit television surveillance systems and Senercomm energy-management products.  Onity has research, development and manufacturing operations in Spain, Mexico and the United States as well as a sales and service network that spans more than 115 countries.  For more, go to www.Onity.biz.
