|Whistler, B.C. --- October 24, 2003 - Tim Morrison was recently appointed
General Manager of Pan Pacific Whistler, according to Steve Halliday, Senior
Vice President of Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts North America Inc.
Morrison will be responsible for overseeing Pan Pacific's "One Team Two
Hotels" concept in Whistler with a second property, Pan Pacific Whistler
Village Centre, opening in December 2004.
Pan Pacific's "One Team Two Hotels" concept is one of intelligent efficiency whereby the two properties are linked by common reservations, marketing, finance, PIE and maintenance. In addition, the properties employ the same contractors, for housekeeping and valet, while providing identical services, including Pan Pacific Lounges and shared ski valet at the existing, mountainside location. Associates are also cross-trained for both properties.
A Pan Pacific veteran for the last 14 years, Morrison is well suited to assume this new role with the company as he moved up the ranks at Pan Pacific Vancouver from room service and banquets to Restaurants Manager and, most recently, as the hotel's Director of Food & Beverage, an Executive Committee position he's held for the last three years.
A native of Kelowna, British Columbia, Morrison graduated from Okanagan College earning a Marketing diploma before attending the British Columbia Institute of Technology in Burnaby, B.C., where he earned a degree in Hospitality Administration.
