The 730-room Omni Orlando Resort at
ChampionsGate Tops Out on Schedule
New luxury golf meetings resort and spa to open October 2004

CHAMPIONSGATE, Fla. (September 25, 2003) The Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate, a 730-room golf resort with 70,000 square feet of meeting space, celebrated the topping out of the resort today.

The luxury resort, scheduled to open October 2004, is Floridas newest meetings and golf destination featuring 36 holes of championship golf, which are already open, and a European-style spa.

Even though the resort is minutes from popular Orlando attractions, the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate is designed as a destination where associations, corporations, and incentive travel groups have everything they will need for a productive, relaxing, and rewarding meeting experience.  As a cornerstone in the 1,200-acre development of ChampionsGate, the Omni offers sensible luxury, natural beauty, and convenience unique to the Central Florida meetings market.  The resort is surrounded by two 18-hole championship golf courses designed by Greg Norman, and set amidst natural wetlands that together encompass 900 acres of the 1,200 acre development.

The resort is designed to handle groups up to 2,000.  The 70,000 square feet of meeting space includes a 25,000 square-foot Grand Ballroom and a 20,000 square-foot Junior Ballroom, 27 total meeting rooms, 11,000 square feet of pre-function space, and an abundance of outdoor meeting space.  Meetings with a golf component benefit from the convenience of tournament cart staging directly
accessible from the meeting space and seconds from the first tee of either golf course.

For those meeting attendees looking to relax, The Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate also has a host of recreation facilities including a 10,000 square-foot European-style spa, a fitness center, and a formal heated outdoor pool, family activity pool with waterslides, and a 850-foot lazy river.  There are also nature walks and jogging trails, along with tennis, volleyball and basketball courts.  The resort is supported by seven food and beverage outlets located throughout the property.

The Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate was designed with meetings in mind, yet we didnt overlook the leisure experience that is important to all of our guests, said Paul Pebley, Director of Marketing for the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate.  The resort offers a natural Florida setting unlike any other, allowing for productive meetings along with a relaxing and rejuvenating getaway for everyone in attendance.
