Cindy Cheung, a Server at the Calgary Marriott Hotel, Nominated
for 2003 Employee of the Year Award by the Tourism Industry Association of Canada
CALGARY, AB, November 3, 2003 - Cindy Cheung, a 26-year veteran and server at Traders Grill at the Calgary Marriott Hotel, was nominated for "Hotel Employee of the Year." The annual award, held in Montreal this past weekend, is given by the Tourism Industry Association of Canada.  Cindy was one of only three finalists from across the country selected to attend this prestigious industry award ceremony.

Cindy is no stranger to accolades and awards.  Last year Cindy was one of 24

winners of the Calgary White Hat Awards honouring the very best in the service industry in Calgary.  Cindy and three of her fellow winners from the Calgary Marriott Hotel, the most from any single establishment in the city, were among 400 nominees. 

Other awards Cindy has won include: 

  • Gold Key award from the Alberta Hotel Association 
  • Mayor's White Hat Award
  • Best Waitress, Hotel White Hat Award
Cindy was also nominated for the J. Willard Marriott Award of Excellence in 1998 and 2003, and has received numerous commendation cards from guests and associates during her 26 years in the hospitality industry.
