The Carneros Inn Opens in Napa Valley's
Winegrowing District
NAPA, Calif. (December 12, 2003) - Carneros Partners, a San Francisco-based development group, has announced the official opening of The Carneros Inn, the new luxury resort located amid the vineyards in the heart of Napa Valley's beautiful Carneros winegrowing district.  The Carneros Inn, which offers 96 guest cottages and 24 for-sale residences, is the first full-service resort to be built in Napa in 20 years, and the first ever in the world-renowned Carneros wine region.

"Although less than an hour's drive from San Francisco, The Carneros Inn is a world apart," said Keith Rogal, founder and CEO of Carneros Partners.  "It enjoys an extraordinarily beautiful natural setting, and is in an ideally central location for exploring the Napa and Sonoma wine country."

The Carneros Inn features 96 charming, private guest cottages, each furnished with casual elegance and nestled in a lush garden courtyard with private deck; terrace dining and poolside lounging with panoramic vineyard views; architecturally dramatic restaurant, bar and spa facilities; and, most importantly, first-class service delivered with warmth and ease.

"Our goal," said Rogal, "has been to combine first-class luxury services and amenities with unpretentious hospitality to create a charming, comfortable and relaxing get-away for a stay of any duration, as well as an ideal venue for a celebration, meeting, or any other special occasion."

Design amenities include classic contemporary furniture, abundant natural light, cherry wood floors and wood-burning fireplaces, vaulted ceilings, large-screen flat-panel TVs, outdoor gas heaters, slate and limestone bathroom detailing, indoor and outdoor showers and, in some cases, soaking tubs.  Additional guest amenities include T-1 speed Internet access over interior and exterior Ethernet ports, DVD/CD player, Italian bed linens, Frette towels, twice daily turndown service, Red Flower bathroom products, breakfast baskets and regular morning newspaper delivery.

The Carneros is one of the most productive and beautiful agricultural regions in the country, and The Carneros Inn's meticulous attention to detail and respect for the area's agricultural tradition find full expression in the 27-acre resort's landscaping.  Guests can relax by taking leisurely walks through hedge-trimmed lanes, lush gardens and stands of fruit trees, representing many of the varieties that were originally harvested by early Carneros farmers.

"From the cherry laurel trees at the entrance of the property to the lavender that follows the road to the Inn's main buildings, The Carneros Inn actively celebrates the Carneros region's rich agricultural heritage," noted Rogal.

Other activities at The Carneros Inn include swimming in the infinity-edged outdoor pool, pampering oneself in one of several spa treatment rooms or participating in special Carneros winemaker-hosted tastings.  The Carneros Inn is also an ideal location from which to explore the wineries of Sonoma and Napa valleys, as well as to take advantage of opportunities for birding, scenic hiking, bicycling and canoeing.

Innovative dining options at The Carneros Inn, under the direction of Chef Philip Wang, include private in-cottage dining, special events at the guests-only Hilltop Dining Room or Hilltop Deck with its panoramic vineyard views, and The Boon Fly Café, a roadhouse-style public eatery.  Cuisine at The Carneros Inn is based on locally grown, seasonally varied ingredients from Carneros and surrounding Sonoma and Napa growers, while the resort's wine list presents a broad array of Carneros' best as well as a wide-ranging selection of Old and New World vintages.

In addition to hotel accommodations, The Carneros Inn offers 24 stylish resort homes now on sale.  Providing owners with full access to resort services and conveniences, the homes feature three-bedroom, three-bath floorplans and approximately 3,800 square feet of total living space.  This includes 2,400 square feet of indoor space characterized by abundant natural light, vaulted ceilings, spacious great room, fireplace, luxurious bathrooms and natural wood and stone finishes.  Each home also features an outdoor courtyard, roof deck and observation tower affording spectacular views of the Carneros region and the surrounding mountains.

Future plans for The Carneros Inn include the re-establishment of a civic space for the Carneros community through the creation of a small town square with post office, bocce courts and an outdoor fireplace around which community gatherings can occur.  Designed to cater to small groups, The Carneros Inn already features superb indoor and outdoor event space, including a private, tree-lined grove directly overlooking the adjoining vineyards, ideal for weddings or other special events.

Carneros Partners, a small, privately funded group with wide experience in environmentally and socially responsible land planning, hotel and residential development, and hotel and restaurant operations, are long-term investor-owners who manage the resort and all its facilities.
