General Manager for the Colony Club Hotel, Barbados |
BARBADOS, W.I. (July 21, 2003) - Elegant Hotels
Group, the largest hotel group on the island of Barbados, has appointed
Romana Heeg as the general manager of the Colony Club Hotel. A seasoned
hotelier, Heeg will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the
96-room hotel. Prior to her appointment, Heeg was the general manager
of Cambridge Beaches Resort in Bermuda.
Heeg has an extensive career within the hotel and leisure industry, spending the first nineteen years of her career within the InterContinental Hotels Group. Based in several countries, primarily within the food and beverage division, Heeg's positions included restaurant manager and food & beverage manager in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and director of food & beverage in Düsseldorf, Germany and later in Miami, FL. In 1994, she was appointed executive assistant manager and director of food & beverage for the 5-star InterContinental Buenos Aires Hotel before moving on to be Resident Manager of the Hotel InterContinental Sao Paulo. Heeg's career led her to the Caribbean in1998 when she was appointed executive assistant manager of the 5-star Little Dix Bay Hotel, Virgin Gorda. Fluent in German, English, Spanish and Portuguese, Heeg's strengths
in quality standard control will be a valuable addition to the Colony Club
and the Elegant Hotels Group.
