MIAMI, Fla. (July 29, 2003) -- The new Radisson Hotel Miami, located at 1601 Biscayne Boulevard, becomes the latest addition to the growing Radisson brand, effective August 8.  The new Radisson Hotel Miami is the fourth Radisson hotel in the city and will serve as Radisson Hotels & Resorts largest hotel in the Miami market.  The 528-room hotel, which features 43,000 square feet of meeting space the largest in the city, has completed a $12 million performing arts-themed renovation of its guest rooms, public areas, meeting space and restaurant.

"The hotel is an important addition to our portfolio in the southeastern United States and a good example of the quality property we want to add in key markets, said Bjørn Gullaksen, executive vice president of Full-Service Hotels for Carlson Hotels Worldwide and brand leader for Radisson Hotels & Resorts.  "The hotel will be ideal for large group business with its extensive meeting space and proximity to the city's business areas and numerous attractions."

With the new $300 million Performing Arts Center under construction next door, the hotel is perfectly positioned to capitalize on the area's renaissance as a cultural and performing arts district.  New shops, restaurants, jazz clubs and coffee bars are interspersed between studios for artists, fashion designers and architects in the adjacent Miami Design District.

"We are delighted to be partnering with Radisson Hotels & Resorts to reposition this beautiful hotel," said Peter G. Shaw, vice president of marketing for Driftwood Hospitality Management, LLC, the hotel's management company. "This is Driftwood's third Radisson flag and we feel that the brand is ideal for this property's location and positioning."

The new Radisson Hotel Miami is located less than 15 minutes from Miami International Airport and five minutes from the Port of Miami and is close to Bayside Marketplace, South Beach, the American Airlines Arena, Coconut Grove, Miami Seaquarium and the Parrot Jungle. Connected to MetroMover, Miami's above-ground rail system, guests can easily move about the city without ever touching the ground!

The hotel has 528 guest rooms, including 58 suites overlooking Biscayne Bay and the downtown Miami skyline. Guest rooms feature all of the amenities expected at a full-service business hotel including two-line cordless phones with data port and voice mail, cable TV with free HBO, hairdryers, iron and board, alarm clock radio and coffeemaker.

The hotel's 43,000 square feet of meeting space boasts the area's largest ballroom and is divisible into 23 meeting rooms all on one floor. With abundant self-parking and valet, superb catering and banquet services, a complete Kosher Kitchen, and the new Brisa Bistro restaurant to open September 2003, the new Radisson Hotel Miami is perfectly positioned to exceed the expectations of even the most demanding clientele.
