Aug. 29, 2003 - CAMDEN, Maine -- Greg Dugal, who announced last month he was stepping down as executive director of the Camden - Rockport - Lincolnville Chamber of Commerce, has been hired to lead the Maine Innkeepers Association.

The group announced Tuesday that Dugal will take over as executive director, filling the position last held by David Siegel.

The Maine Innkeepers Association represents nearly 800 bed-and-breakfast inns, camps, cottages, hotels, inns, motels and resorts across the state. The organization, based in Freeport, represents the lodging industry before the Legislature and helps promote tourism.

Dugal, highly regarded in the Camden-Rockport area, has been the Chamber's director for three years. Before that, he worked for 10 years at the Samoset Resort in Rockport as director of food and beverage, overseeing a staff of 200, then as director of sales.

Before that, Dugal was a consultant and developer of the North Park Grille in Augusta, a start-up 400-seat restaurant.

A graduate of the University of Maine at Farmington, Dugal has served as president of the Maine Restaurant Association, which in 2000 named him Restaurateur of the Year, and the Mid Coast Chamber Council, which in 2002 named him Chamber Executive of the Year.
