DELAMAR Greenwich Harbor Hotel |
May 9, 2003 . . . The DELAMAR, Greenwich, CT's new luxury hotel included
in Condé Nast Traveler¹s "Hot List" of "The Best New Hotels
in the World" (May 2003), has reinvented the meaning of hospitality at
this new waterfront property. According to General Manager Klaus
Peters, "We have taken the constants of hotel hospitality - tipping for
good service, high rates for telephone use, catering to VIPs - and turned
them on their ear. At the DELAMAR our guests are guests, not mere
customers."
Peters has also instituted a "no VIP list" policy. "When a hotel keeps a VIP list, it implies that regular¹ guests are second class citizens getting secondary service. Not here at the DELAMAR. Every guest is treasured, and all are treated equally whether they are a celebrity, corporate mogul, or young couple on their honeymoon." Another major complaint of most hotel guests is the exorbitant telephone charges. They resort to using cell phones and often ignore the hotel¹s phone system to save money. At the DELAMAR, there are no surcharges for phone use. All long distance calls within the US are just $.50 per minute, and international calls just $1.00 per minute. Local call and toll free calls are free. The DELAMAR, newly open on Greenwich harbor, has 74 deluxe rooms and 9 elegant suites. |
