Craig Jacobs joined The Del and the Destination Hotels & Resorts team in May 1998 and as Director of Sales & Marketing. He contributed to the resort�s brand and market repositioning, intensifying sales and advancing revenue management practices. �Throughout our restoration, Craig�s contribution to strengthening the brand while weathering the storm, construction, economic and otherwise has been fundamental to our success,� says Michael Hardisty, Vice President/Managing Director. �We look forward to the benefit of Craig�s experience and wisdom in the role as General Manager in continuing the tradition and heritage of The Del.� Jacobs has over 20 years experience in hospitality operations, sales, marketing, advertising, revenue management, public relations and community relations. Prior to joining the Hotel del Coronado, Jacobs was Vice President, Western Region for the Plasencia Group, a hotel transactions and consulting company. From 1991 to 1996, he served as the Director of Marketing at The Arizona Biltmore in Phoenix. Jacobs began his hotel career with Hyatt Hotels in 1981 as a management trainee. He then worked as a Sales Manager for Hyatt properties in New Orleans, Louisiana and Dearborn, Michigan. From 1985 through 1991, Jacobs served as Director of Sales at Hyatt hotels located in Memphis, TN, Anaheim CA and Los Angeles Airport. Jacobs has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Tulane University, New Orleans, Louisiana. He also successfully completed the Institute of Certified Travel Agencies� Executive Travel Consultant program and received his certification in February 1997. He and his wife Dori have two children.
