Del Lago Resort Takes Wireless High Speed Broadband
to the Golf Course and the Lake!

Lake Conroe becomes largest wireless enabled (Wi-Fi)
recreational area in Texas

Montgomery, Texas (March 26, 2003) - Through the Wired Lake project, guests of Del Lago Resort, boating enthusiasts, property and business owners surrounding Lake Conroe and even professional fishermen can now access the Internet from the middle of the lake through the largest wireless enabled (Wi-Fi) recreational area in Texas.

Jarvis Entertainment Group, DataCentric Broadband, West Hills Park Joint Venture and Del Lago Resort have joined together to create the Wired Lake.  Known as a hotspot, this wireless community initiative will have Lake Conroe completely covered with wireless high speed broadband building-to-building connections as well as wide area 802.11a/b client access.

The system is operated from the Jarvis Entertainment Groups state-of-the-art underground bunker in Montgomery, TX, which provides secure collocation and hosted data storage solutions.  The Jarvis Data Center bunker uniquely provides wireless access directly back to high-speed fiber transport to the Internet. Currently, most of the south area of the lake is covered with the remainder being active before the 2003 summer season gets underway.

Del Lago Resort has a key access point in the Wired Lake project. As a result, Del Lago now has 45MBs of constant, dedicated access, which is available to guests of the resort as well as supporting the many wireless access points within the facility.  Businesses who host their trade shows, conferences and meetings at the resort will now have easy access to advanced Internet services. Del Lago is also the partner hotel for the Westlin Building and Jarvis Data Center underground bunker, allowing out of town personnel to relax at the resort while still having full access to the their servers at the data center remotely.

Whether our guests are on a boat across the lake, playing through 18-holes on our championship golf course, or in the middle of hosting a national sales rally; they can check e-mail, surf the Internet, download voice, data or video files and host live video conferences from where ever they might be in and around the resort, explained Tory Parks, director of sales and marketing for Del Lago Resort.  By June 1, 2003, each and every villa, guest room and cottage on the 300-acre property will have wireless access as well.

David Herr, president of DataCentric Broadband explains why this is the perfect marriage of technology and location.  Im pleased to see the excitement and participation from the numerous resorts and restaurants around the lake, especially Del Lago.  Lake Conroe is one of the most relaxing and enjoyable recreational areas I know.  Now business professionals can take some time away from the office, yet still be connected to their corporate world.

Based in Houston, Texas, Jarvis Entertainment Group, Inc. (Pink Sheets: JRVE) is an Internet technology and entertainment holding company engaged in a variety of business segments including entertainment, virtual reality, network and information technology.

DataCentric Broadband (DCB), originally founded in Conroe, was created to address the need for high speed broadband Internet access in underserved rural areas. By building wireless Internet systems directly attached to national fiber optic systems, DCB has been able to provide advanced data and telephony services by bypassing telephone company local lines completely. Connectivity to buildings can be provided at speeds ranging from 256KBs to 800MBs over Ethernet and ATM protocols as well as indoor wireless networking.

Del Lago Resort, a Benchmark Hospitality Property, is exclusively set among 300 acres along the shores of Lake Conroe, 40 miles north of Houston.  The all-suite, IACC approved property includes a conference center with more than 60,000 square feet of flexible function space, wireless internet access, a fully equipped amphitheater, and recreational amenities such as an 18-hole championship golf course, lighted tennis courts, guided fishing expeditions, a health spa and fitness center, swimming pool, boat rentals, three restaurants and The Grandstand Sports Bar.
