 Craig Chandler Appoint Vice President of Business
Development - Suburban Franchise Systems, Inc.

ATLANTA, Ga. - January 23, 2003 - Suburban Franchise Systems, Inc. (SFS), which operates and franchises Suburban Extended Stay Hotels, announces the promotion of Craig Chandler to vice president of business development. 

Chandler previously served as vice president of franchise development for SFS and focused solely on new franchisees.  In his new role, Chandler is responsible for supporting sales and marketing functions at the property level.  He will focus on developing and implementing successful sales and marketing strategies that utilize national alliances and franchise support services geared towards the specific needs of each property. 

"Craig has been an invaluable asset to Suburban and we are excited to have him move into this new capacity," said Kevin Lewis, president and CEO of SFS. "His strong background in sales, marketing and operations will be an incredible asset for all of our properties and in growing the new Suburban brand." 

Prior to joining the SFS team, he served as the director of franchise administration for GuestHouse International for seven years, and general manager of Hospitality Services, Inc., a hotel operations company, for 15 years.  He was previously the president of the Mississippi Hotel & Motel Association and earned his Certified Hotel Administrator's designation in 1988 from the AH & LA Educational Institute.
