Marriott International Announces Owner and Franchisee
Award Winners; Over 25 Companies Recognized
for Hospitality Excellence 
WASHINGTON � Oct. 8, 2002 � Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE:MAR) recently recognized top companies that own or franchise Marriott Hotels, Resorts and Suites and Renaissance Hotels, Resorts and Suites properties.  CNL Hospitality Corp., John Q. Hammons Hotels Inc., Larco Hospitality Management, Inc., White Lodging Services Corp. and Winegardner and Hammons, Inc. were awarded Marriott�s highest honor, the Partnership Circle Award, presented to owner and franchise companies for their hospitality excellence.

  • CNL Hospitality of Orlando, Fla., owns nearly 40 Marriott lodging products, including the Bridgewater Marriott and the Dallas Marriott Suites, Market Center.  The company will soon open the 950-room JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa in Phoenix, Ariz. 
  • John Q. Hammons of Springfield, Mo., owns and operates 10 Marriott lodging products, including the Coral Springs Marriott Hotel, Golf Club & Convention Center, the Houston Hobby Marriott and the Renaissance Dallas-Richardson. 
  • Larco Hospitality Management of Vancouver, Canada, owns and operates one Renaissance and four Marriott hotels, including the JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort, Spa & Golf, the Renaissance Toronto Skydome and the Ottawa Marriott. 
  • White Lodging Services of Merrillville, Ind., owns and operates more than 75 Marriott lodging products, including the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown and the Austin Airport Marriott South.  The company also recently opened its first Renaissance location, the Renaissance Fort Lauderdale-Plantation. 
  • Winegardner & Hammons, based in Cincinnati, Ohio, owns and operates nine Marriott hotels, including the Chicago Marriott Northwest, the Austin Marriott North and the Hartford/Windsor Marriott Airport. 
In addition to awarding the Partnership Circle Awards, Marriott also recognized 25 companies for their exceptional guest satisfaction scores and honored other owners and franchisees for their achievements in the following categories: Opening of the Year, Conversion of the Year, Best New Product and Developer of the Year.  A full list of winners is attached.
