  Marriott and Leisure Sports, Inc. Set to Open the 175 room Renaissance ClubSport in Walnut Creek, Calif.;
Renaissance Brand�s First Property
in Conjunction with ClubSport 
Full-Service Hotel with 85,000-Square-Foot Sports and Fitness Resort

WASHINGTON � Oct. 24, 2002 � Marriott International, Inc. and Leisure Sports, Inc. announced today that the 175-room Renaissance ClubSport is scheduled to open in Nov. 2002 in Walnut Creek, Calif.  Located at 2805 Jones Road, this newest addition to the Renaissance Hotels, Resorts and Suites portfolio is the brand�s first property in conjunction with ClubSport and is owned by W.C. Walnut Creek L.L.C. and managed by Leisure Sports, Inc.

With distinctive architecture and colorful furnishings, Renaissance ClubSport is a world-class sports and fitness resort.  Guests committed to getting in shape can take advantage of the sports club, which features 12,000 square feet of cardiovascular, circuit and free weight equipment, an NCAA-regulation gymnasium, basketball volleyball, group exercise studios, racquetball and squash courts, and fully appointed locker rooms.  An outdoor aquatic area offers three swimming pools, a whirlpool, bocce courts and garden patio area for special events.  Weekly group exercise classes taught by top instructors include step, cycling, yoga, Pilates, tai chi, kickboxing and more. 

The 7,000-square-foot Child Care Center offers supervised childcare, fitness and sporting activities, arts and crafts and other educational programs.  Also available is a full menu of youth programs, including specialty classes, camps, birthday parties and holiday special events. 

After indulging in a range of exercise activities, guests can unwind at the R Spa, a 3,000-square-foot full-service day spa and salon.  A varied menu of spa services is available, including massage therapy, facials, body treatments, hydrotherapy, manicures and pedicures.  A boutique-style gift shop offering a variety of sportswear and sundries is also available.

Renaissance ClubSport offers 4,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, including the 2,000-square-foot Renaissance Room, divisible into three sections.  All guest rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated, including five luxurious suites. 

Relaxing �spa-style� bathrooms feature oversized bathtubs, and other in-room amenities include two-line speakerphones, a cordless phone, complimentary high-speed internet access, an executive-size work desk with lighting, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, and coffee maker. 

Located near both Oakland and San Francisco International Airports, the Renaissance ClubSport is across the street from Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART), offering local transportation to San Francisco and other popular area attractions, including the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum & Arena � home of the Oakland Raiders and Oakland As.

The property�s lobby-level restaurant, c-blue Wet Bar and Bistro, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, is a contemporary bistro with an exhibition-kitchen serving signature fusion cuisine. Outdoor patio seating overlooking the pool and lawn area is also available.  c-blue Express offers more casual fare, including health-conscious snacks and takeout foods.  In addition, c-blue Wet Bar, a 50-seat lounge featuring numerous TV screens airing a variety of events and programs, serves a full menu of appetizers and entrees.  Additional hotel amenities include a business center with computers, faxing and copying services, dry cleaning and valet service.
