Now Managed by Interstate Hotels; Renamed The Creeks at Beechwood Hotel & Conference Center |
WASHINGTON - Oct. 15,
2002 -- Interstate Hotels & Resorts (NYSE: IHR), the nation's largest
independent hotel management company, today announced that it has signed
an agreement to manage The Creeks at Beechwood Hotel & Conference Center
in Fort Worth, Texas.
The 286-room luxury complex is the fourth hotel/conference center property managed by Interstate. "With The Creeks' capabilities as a conference center and its location just 20 minutes from DFW airport, the property is ideally positioned for both the transient business traveler and the meeting planner," said John Emery, Interstate president and chief operating officer. "In terms of business demand generators, The Creeks is situated within two miles of the Alliance Development, a commercial business park that is home to a large number of Fortune 500 companies." Formerly The Westin Beechwood Fort Worth, The Creeks at Beechwood Hotel & Conference Center features 286 guest rooms, including 13 suites, each offering a number of luxury amenities, including pillow-top mattresses, cordless phones, large work desks, cable TV with on-demand movies, Starbucks coffee, in-room safe, voice mail and data ports. In addition, the property features 18,000 square feet of sophisticated meeting and event space, including 14 rooms with a full range of conference facilities plus 5,000 square feet of outdoor meeting space. A 9,000 square foot ballroom seats up to 900. "Conference centers have a unique operating profile, and we have a proven track record in this area, based on our successful operation of three other similar facilities: the Doral Forrestal Hotel & Conference Center in Princeton, N.J., the Doral Eaglewood Conference Resort & Spa in Itasca, Ill., and the Nathan Hale Inn & Conference Center at the University of Connecticut. "We will install our proprietary management and marketing programs, step up training and focus on guest service," Emery added. "The hotel is in excellent physical condition, and we believe our management team can add both short- and long-term value to the property." In addition to 24-hour room service, the hotel features a restaurant and a lounge: The Creekside Cafe, featuring contemporary American cuisine with "Texas Flair" and the Blue Moon Lounge for cocktails and light fare. The Creeks overlooks a Greg Norman-designed championship golf course and is adjacent to the Texas Motor Speedway, host to NASCAR and Indy Racing League.
