This project marks the second W brand contract GSI has entered with Gatehouse Capital of Dallas, TX, developer and ownership representative for the project. GSI was attractive to Gatehouse Capital because of the Company’s previous experience with the design intricacies of the W brand and our previous four projects in the San Diego area. Rob Kisstoth, Jr., president of GSI explains, “Our Company’s philosophy is to continually build upon the solid relationships developed with our clients. We have been very fortunate to have clients like Gatehouse Capital and the W brand of Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, Inc. We believe that through these relationships we develop the personal knowledge needed to manage high profile sign projects such as this one.”

This new nineteen-story hotel project is located in the heart of San Diego’s Columbia District. The property will offer 245 guestrooms built as part of a newly constructed tower. The new tower is part of a renovation of the former coffee warehouse now home to a two story meeting space, restaurant and rooftop bar. Other members of this project team include the architectural firm of Jensen Fey Associates, Seattle, WA; the Interior design consultants of Shopworks, San Francisco, CA; and Webcor Builders, San Mateo, CA.
