Holly Waterbor Named General Manager of The Benjamin, 
Manhattan East Suite Hotels� Luxury Property in New York City
NEW YORK, August 29, 2002 �  Holly Waterbor has been named general manager of The Benjamin, Manhattan East Suite Hotels� luxury property located at Lexington Avenue and 50th Street, announced the company�s Managing Director Laurence Denihan.  Ms. Waterbor is one of only two female general managers in the luxury category of New York City hotels, according to information from the New York Hotel Association

She succeeds John Moser, former general manager of the hotel, who was promoted to chief marketing officer for Manhattan East in May. 

Waterbor will be responsible for the management and day-to-day operations of the 209-room Executive Suite Hotel, including overall management of the hotel�s renowned restaurant, An American Place, and on-site spa, the Woodstock Spa & Wellness Center.

Waterbor comes directly to The Benjamin from her role as hotel manager at the Omni Berkshire Place.  Prior to that, she held the position of director of sales and marketing for both the New York Palace Hotel and the Omni Berkshire Place, where she was awarded the U.S. Director of the Year for Omni Hotels. Ms. Waterbor has also held positions at The Plaza and Waldorf-Astoria where she worked in the areas of food and beverage and operations. 

Currently she serves as the executive director of the Waterbor Burn and Cancer Foundation, a family foundation begun in 1997 whose mission is to save lives and enhance care for children and adults suffering from burns and cancer.  Grant beneficiaries to date are The Burn Center at Stony Brook University Hospital & Medical Center and the Institute of Cancer Genetics at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital/University.

A past president of the Hotel Sales and Marketing Association International and former board member of National Business Travel Association, Ms. Waterbor holds a B.S. in Hotel/Restaurant Management from the University of Southern New Hampshire.  A native of Huntington, Long Island, Waterbor is a avid tennis player, skier and food connoisseur.
