Stratton Warren Software, founded in 1977, primarily serves the hospitality industry. The Stratton Warren flagship product is the Enterprise Materials Management System, or MMS400, a turnkey software solution for procurement and inventory operations that runs on an IBM iSeries server platform. In recent years, the company has broadened its scope to serve other market sectors.

According to Bill Lashley, chief operating officer for IAD, the two companies are a perfect fit. “SWS offers a complete system with a proven return on investment that is totally compatible with our Lodging Management System (LMS) software. In fact, we have partnered with Stratton Warren in the past.” The two companies also share a significant number of clients, including Boyd Gaming Corporation, Harrah’s Entertainment, Inc., Mandalay Resort Group and Park Place Entertainment.

IAD has a history of acquiring niche software and then increasing the market space of the product, noted Lashley. “The company will invest heavily in development, making Stratton Warren the clear leader, just as we have done with our LMS hospitality software. Many of the systems we have in place, such as 24-hour support and a full-service implementation team, will enhance the product offering.”

IAD products are sold to a variety of market sectors, said Lashley. “We hope to introduce the full range of capabilities inherent in the Stratton Warren software to the industries we serve.”

IAD had been eyeing Stratton Warren for some time because of its compatibility and similar customer base, said Stephen Miller, chief executive officer for IAD. “They have a strong following. In fact, we spoke with a number of mutual clients before making the purchase and soon realized it was in everyone’s best interest to bring the resources and reliability of LMS to this product line.”

Inter-American Data, established in 1981, is a software development company specializing in property management and document managing systems. Its LMS property management system is installed in leading hotels, resorts and casinos of the world. IAD has offices in Atlanta, Las Vegas and Miami.
