WASHINGTON, D.C., May 3, 2002 - National Trust Historic Hotels of America, a membership marketing association with 185 members, has signed an agreement with Newton, Mass., based HubX to provide central reservations services effective June 1, 2002. This includes Internet distribution services (IDS), private-label voice and reservations through the global distribution systems (GDS). In addition, HHA has acquired the GDS code "HE" and hired a director of marketing distribution to oversee HHA's reservation system, encourage member hotel participation and develop retail products and specials. "We are taking a quantum leap forward in growing revenue for our members," said Thierry Roch, executive director of Historic Hotels of America. "Following a year-long process, HubX was selected because of their innovative technology, affordable pricing and proven production capabilities. Our acquisition of a GDS code and hiring Shirley Talbert will allow us to bring our members supplementary bookings through the creative packaging of their unique and diverse market characteristics."
"The HubX Web-based central reservation system will transform the Historic Hotels reservation office from a disconnected 'order-entry' operation into a dynamic sales center," said Michael Murray, president and CEO of HubX, Inc. National Trust Historic Hotels of America is a program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. National Trust Historic Hotels of America has identified 185 quality hotels that have faithfully maintained their historic architecture and ambiance. To be selected for this prestigious program, a hotel must be at least 50 years old, listed or eligible for the National Register of Historic Places or recognized locally as having historic significance.
