Shoneys Inn-Nashville North in Goodlettsville
First Shoneys Inn to Convert to the
GuestHouse International Name

Hendersonville, Tennessee, June 18, 2002---In the first step of Sholodges major renaming program for its 70 hotels, Shoneys Inn-Nashville North in Goodlettsville today raised the new GuestHouse International sign, becoming the first Shoneys Inn to convert to the GuestHouse International name since ShoLodge announced its acquisition of the chain in May.
The name change is a major element in the companys growth plans, increasing its presence in other parts of the US and showcasing a major brand name in the hospitality industry.

Chris Williams, general manager of the Nashville-North hotel, said that he is excited about this change.  The GuestHouse name is synonymous with hospitality.  Putting that name on this hotel is a natural expression of the commitment to outstanding service that has been the hallmark of this hotel.   We are enthusiastic about the change and the opportunity to continue providing our guests the best possible stay every night they visit us, Williams stated.

The Nashville North property, located on Northcreek Boulevard near Rivergate Mall and owned by ShoLodge, Inc., is a three floor hotel with 111 rooms.  It features a 770 square foot meeting room that can accommodate audiences of up to 75, computer data ports, fax and copy services, continental breakfast and a pool. The hotel is already accepting reservations under the new name.

Williams said that she has sent out information to the hotels customers and will be continuing the special programs for businesses and individuals that have already been established at the hotel.  We are proud of our programs and our hotels appeal.  We are confident this name change will be another expression of our overall commitment to excellent service.

ShoLodge, a publicly traded company (NSDQ: LODG) which franchises 70 Shoneys Inns in 15 states, acquired in May the franchise system of GuestHouse International, which includes 73 hotels and announced that it would convert all of its existing Shoneys Inns to the GuestHouse name.

Leon Moore, chief executive officer of ShoLodge, in making the announcement, said, We believe that there is real positive synergy, to be gained with the Shoneys Inn and GuestHouse brands.  This is an exciting move for us, and we believe it will be of great benefit to our company and to our new and existing franchisees.
