for the Owner Hotel Palacio de Congresos, S.L. |
Watford, UK - 8th April 2002 . Hilton International announces that
it has signed an agreement to manage its second hotel in Spain, the new
Hilton Valencia, on behalf of its owners Hotel Palacio de Congresos, S.L.,
a subsidiary of Residencial Siglo XXI, S.L.
The 307 room Hilton Valencia will be located in the Ademuz area of the city, directly opposite the Norman Foster designed convention centre on Ave. Cortes de las Valencianas. The new hotel, together with its twin residential development on the other side of Ave. Cortes de las Valencianas, will form the "gateway" to Valencia and will have excellent connectivity to the city centre, the Alicante-Barcelona motorway, the trade fair and the airport. Scheduled to open towards the end of 2004, the hotel forms part of a new development consisting of two towers - one featuring 30 floors and the other 15 - and a large common ground floor. Hotel facilities will include five Executive Floors with exclusive executive lounge, 18 meeting rooms offering 'Hilton Meetings' state-of-the-art meeting and conference solutions, and a ballroom for up to 1,200 guests. Leisure facilities will encompass two restaurants, bars and a health and fitness centre with a swimming pool. Parking for up to 300 cars will be available. We are delighted to be adding a second Spanish hotel to our portfolio in a city of increasing importance as both a business and leisure destination," said Anthony Harris, Chief Executive, Hilton International. "Valencia is now one of the most important trade fair destinations in Spain with 250 fair days per annum and an increasing number of international events being held each year." Mr. Lal Bhagwandas Sirwani, President of Hotel Palacio de Congresos, S.L., said that "the projected hotel will enable Valencia to substantially improve and foster its supply of five-star hotels (which is currently very limited). In all likelihood it will become a symbol of Valencia and contribute at international level to the promotion of the city as a business, cultural and leisure destination." Andersen's Real Estate Services Division in Spain and J&A Garrigues have provided advisory services to the development company. Incias is the technical and architectural company. Hilton International, a subsidiary of London-based Hilton Group plc, and Hilton Hotels Corporation, based in Beverly Hills, have a worldwide alliance to market Hilton, the world's best known hotel brand. Collectively offering over 2,300 hotels in more than 60 countries worldwide, both companies are recognised as leaders in the hospitality industry. Hilton International currently operates 384 hotels in over 60 countries worldwide. |
