MEMPHIS, Tenn., April 9, 2002�Hampton®, the
national brand of mid-priced Hampton Inn® and Hampton Inn & Suites®
hotels, today announced that it opened six Hampton hotels during March
of 2002, including one international property in Mexico and one conversion
hotel in Utah. The six hotels add 518 new rooms, bringing the brand�s
systemwide total to 119,483 rooms. The new openings, all of which
are franchised properties, comprise four Hampton Inn hotels and two Hampton
Inn & Suites hotels.
�Hampton continues to make headway into the Western United States and abroad,� said Phil Cordell, senior vice-president, brand management, Hampton. �The brand opened its fifth hotel in Mexico in the Saltillo-Airport Area, and experienced additional penetration into Utah and Wyoming markets.
