OHANA Reef Lanai Receives $1.3 million
in Property Upgrades
HONOLULU, OAHU, HAWAII - February 4, 2002 - OHANA Hotels & Resorts has completed a $1.3 million upgrade to the 110-room OHANA Reef Lanai, located at 225 Saratoga Road in Waikiki.

This boutique-style hotel is just a block from the beach and Fort DeRussy Park and offers friendly island service and a selection of comfortable guest rooms and kitchenettes, many with eye-catching ocean or park views.

Guests checking into the OHANA Reef Lanai are now greeted with a newly refurbished lobby with island themed artwork and wood furnishings. Quartzite stone flooring adorns the lobby and outside patio areas. Elevators have been upgraded with security in mind. A guest's valid card key is now necessary to access all guest floors.

Corridors, guest rooms and suites are now sporting new wallpaper and carpeting. Other upgrades to guest rooms and suites include new beds, bedspreads, drapery, sofa beds, televisions and fully refinished and reupholstered furnishings. Kitchenettes have new granite counter tops and updated fixtures.

According to Bitsy Kelley, director of business and brand development for OHANA Hotels, the OHANA Reef Lanai is one of Waikiki's hidden gems. "This hotel has so much going for it," Kelley said. "If you're looking for comfort, value and a great location, the OHANA Reef Lanai is for you."

Kelley added that return guests especially like the complimentary continental breakfast that is available to hotel guests each morning from 7:00 to 8:30 am in Buzz's Restaurant, located just off of the hotel lobby.  "It's an added benefit unique to this particular OHANA hotel," Kelley noted.

All rooms at the OHANA Reef Lanai offer refrigerators, irons, ironing boards, hair dryers, voice mail, Nintendo games and in-room movies.  Kitchenettes come equipped with a microwave oven, refrigerator, sink, cooking utensils, toaster and a coffee maker.

The OHANA Reef Lanai is one of 14 OHANA properties located in the heart of Waikiki. Last year, the brand expanded to the Neighbor Islands when it assumed management of the OHANA Maui Islander in historic Lahaina Town and the OHANA Keauhou Beach on the island of Hawaii. 2001 also saw the first OHANA hotel to open outside of Hawaii on Guam with the introduction of the OHANA Oceaview Guam. Later this year, OHANA's second Guam property will come on line when the OHANA Bayview Guam reopens in May with fully refurbished guest rooms, public areas and a new restaurant.

OHANA Hotels & Resorts is a division of Hawaii-based Outrigger Enterprises, Inc., the largest lodging company in Hawaii and one of the fastest growing lodging companies in the Pacific. Under its two hotel brands -- Outrigger Hotels & Resorts and OHANA Hotels & Resorts, the company currently operates or has under development 45 hotels and resort condominiums throughout the Pacific region, representing more than 12,000 hotel rooms and condominium units in Hawaii, Micronesia, Australia and the South Pacific. Outrigger's affiliate, Outrigger Lodging Services, manages nearly two-dozen hotels and resorts throughout the U.S. mainland.
