The Santa Ynez Inn-the first new hotel built in Santa Barbara County's
wine country since 1985 - celebrated its grand opening on October 1, 2001.
Douglas and Christine Ziegler, Principals of Z Bar, Inc., are the local
owners of the 14-room luxury property located at 3627 Sagunto Street. They
were joined by 300 members of the public, dignitaries and hospitality industry
at the formal ribbon cutting ceremony followed by complimentary refreshments
and guided Inn tours throughout the afternoon.
The two-story 14,000 square-foot Victorian-style building highlights 19th century architecture with 21st century amenities. Fourteen individually decorated guest rooms have unique antiques and furnishings, queen or king-sized beds, luxury Frette linens, thermostatically controlled heat and air-conditioning, color TV with DVD/CD entertainment system, two telephones with voicemail and dataport, refrigerator, coffee maker, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, illuminated mirror, bathrobes and slippers. Most rooms have a balcony or patio, gas fireplace, double steam shower and whirlpool tub.
The Santa Ynez Inn features a fitness facility with sauna, Parlor and Library meeting rooms, full service kitchen catering facilities, outdoor heated whirlpool and sundeck, as well as extensive gardens. Rates include afternoon tea, evening wine & hors d'oeuvres and a full gourmet breakfast.
