Stephen Brandman Named General Manager 
of Pomeranc Group's 60 Thompson Hotel 
NEW YORK - - October 15, 2001 - - Seasoned luxury hotel operator Stephen Brandman has been named General Manager of Soho�s chic boutique hotel, 60 Thompson.  The hotel was recently named by Conde Nast Traveller, UK, as one of the five coolest hotels in the world in their �Hot List 2001�. 
 
Prior to this appointment, Brandman worked for Inter-Continental Hotels and Resorts, most recently as the General Manager of the Inter-Continental Central Park South New York.  Before this he was the Director of  Quality and Standards for 140 Inter-Continental hotels worldwide, based in London and Atlanta.  He has held several executive positions with

Inter-Continental, including Manager of the May Fair Inter-Continental London, Inter-Continental Miami and Inter-Continental Chicago. Additional assignments have included Hilton Head and the Barclay New York.

Brandman is a graduate of the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University.  A New York native, he is the founding president of the London Chapter of the Cornell Society of Hoteliers.  He has served on the board of the Make A Wish Foundation in Miami, has participated in the Big Brother program and has done volunteer work for the Special Olympics.

Owned by the Pomeranc Group, 60 Thompson completed the opening of its 100 rooms and suites this September and has quickly established itself as one of the city�s most fashionable hotels featuring the interior designs of Thomas O�Brien of Soho�s Aero Studios.  The hotel features a spectacular duplex penthouse loft with floor to ceiling windows and a private garden terrace.  Additionally, the hotel offers its guests complimentary access to a spacious sundeck and roof top gardens with spectacular 360-degree views of Manhattan.   The hotel�s popular Thom�s Bar and Asian-inspired Thom�s Restaurant has become the real life version of �Sex in the City� with such famous faces being spotted there since opening including Gwyneth Paltrow, Joaquin Phoenix, Russell Crowe, Stella McCartney and Lenny Kravitz to name a few.

Each guestroom is furnished with Frette linens and robes, pure down bedding, DVD and CD players, an in-room selection of spa products and bathroom apothecary by Philosophy, and pantries stocked with gourmet items from New York's Dean & DeLuca and E.A.T.
