   Twenty One Entries Chosen as Finalists for 
the 21st Annual Gold Key Awards for 
Excellence in Hospitality Design
WHITE PLAINS, NY, October, 2001� From over 120 entries submitted by restaurant and lodging designers from around the world, 21 entries have been chosen as Finalists for the 21st Annual Gold Key Awards for Excellence in Hospitality Design.  Grand Prize winners in each of the competition�s seven categories, as well as a first-time �Best of Show� Award, will be announced at the Gold Key Awards Breakfast, Monday, November 12, 2001, at New York City�s Waldorf=Astoria.

The Gold Key Awards recognize hospitality designers for excellence in seven design categories: Restaurants � Seating To 110; Restaurants � Seating Over 110; Guest Rooms; Suites; Lobby/Reception Area; Senior Living Facility; and Spa/Resort.

Judges for the 2001 Gold Key Awards were Marcel Bequillard of Marcel Bequillard, Inc., Clodagh of Clodagh Design International, and Ilan Waisbrod of Studio Gaia.  Judges considered design creativity and aesthetic value as well as commercial viability when making their selections.

The Best of Show and Grand Prize winners will be announced and all Finalists recognized at the Gold Key Awards Breakfast, Monday, November 12, 7:30 a.m. � 10:00 a.m., at New York City�s Waldorf=Astoria.  The breakfast will feature a keynote address by Chip Conley, founder and CEO of Joie de Vivre Hospitality.

The Gold Key Awards are presented by the International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show (IH/M&RS) and sponsored by Hospitality Design and Hotel & Motel Management magazines.  The Gold Key Gallery at the IH/M&RS, which presents all finalists projects, is sponsored by the NEWH and is located in the Hospitality Showcase on Level One of the Javits Center.  

The 86th annual IH/M&RS will be held Saturday, November 10, through Tuesday, November 13, 2001, at New York City�s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.  The Show will feature more than 1,900 hospitality industry suppliers and attracts approximately 58,000 in total trade attendance.  IH/M&RS attendee registration is $20 before October 14, and $40 after October 14.  Registration information may be obtained on-line at www.ihmrs.com.  For additional information, contact GLM�s Customer Service Department at (914) 421-3206.
