With Management Agreements for Six Hawthorn Suites® Hotels |
WICHITA, Kansas, Nov. 16, 2001 - Effective November 1, 2001, LodgeWorks,
L.P., a Wichita, Kansas-based owner and operator of all-suite hotels nationwide,
has assumed management of six Hawthorn Suites® Hotels located in Dallas
and Austin. The hotels, owned by an affiliate of AEW Capital Management,
L.P. in Boston, consist of 595 suites combined and serve the markets of
Dallas Market Center, Arlington, Richardson, Central Austin, Northwest
Austin, and South Austin.
LodgeWorks, L.P. owns and operates the Sierra Suites® Hotel chain
and 8 Summerfield Suites® by Wyndham Hotels as a franchisee of Dallas-based
Wyndham International, Inc.
LodgeWorks L.P. is a management and development partnership formed in March 2000 by Rolf E. Ruhfus, B. Anthony Isaac and others, founders of Sierra Suites and pioneers of extended-stay lodging. The team successfully developed the RESIDENCE INN® concept (which they sold to Marriott) and SUMMERFIELD SUITES® Hotels, which was sold to Wyndham International in July 1998. Sierra Suites Hotels is an all suites chain with 17 properties nationwide that combines a high-quality studio suite concept with a service experience that rivals more upscale competitors. With all new construction, Sierra Suites offers roomy, open studio suites with TV and sofa-sleeper, a full kitchen and separate bath. Suites provide complete office amenities, including high-speed internet access. Summerfield Suites by Wyndham is an up-scale all suite hotel brand with 37 properties nationwide that offers guests separate living and sleeping areas, full kitchens, enhanced work areas and a complimentary breakfast. Hawthorn Suites® is a predominately upscale extended-stay hotel chain that offers daily complimentary hot breakfast buffet and weekly evening social hour, plus numerous business amenities. |
