Anna Graversen Developing a Radisson SAS Hotel
in Silkeborg, Denmark
Brussels, December 10th, 2001... Continuing its expansion in Denmark, Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts will see the addition of a new four-star hotel in the lake district city of Silkeborg, known as the "green town in the country," in July 2002. The hotel will be operated as a franchise with Anna Graversen, owner of the hotel along with a number of local businessmen, serving as general manager.

The future Radisson SAS Hotel is located in an historical building near the harbor, expected to become one of the cornerstones in this new business and vacation destination and only a short walk to several café bars and restaurants.  The harbor is the traditional hub of the town, where the well-known paper factory was established in 1844.  The property will have 88 guest rooms and a suite, featuring a natural, yet classical style.  Other facilities include four state-of-the-art conference rooms for up to 90, an open space with a bar and fireplace, as well as a restaurant with a large terrace offering an idyllic view of the Remstrup Å River.

The hotel will feature a Spa & Health Center, including a swimming pool, jacuzzi, steambath and sauna and a theater with five cinemas and a cultural center.

Located in Central Jutland, only 25 miles west of Aarhus, Silkeborg is situated in the country's largest lake district, on the banks of the Gudenå River, only 45 minutes drive from Billund International Airport.  Surrounded by large forests and scenic lakes, it offers visitors the best of the countryside along with waterscapes.  Today, the city has developed into a popular vacation destination, offering a variety of leisure activities, such as canoeing, sailing, fishing, cycling and hiking.  Silkeborg also has a long cultural history, reflected through its numerous museums and galleries of modern and historical art.  Every summer, the city hosts the famous Riverboat Jazz Festival and the Country Music Festival.

Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts, currently includes 110 hotels in operation and 37 hotels under development in 38 countries and is the sole franchiser in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa for Radisson Hotels & Resorts.
