December 21, 2001 - Bill Smith has been appointed president of Noble House Hotels and Resorts, company chairman Pat Colee announced today.

Smith comes to Noble House from world-renowned, ultra-luxury, cruise line, Silversea Cruises where he held the position of president and COO for the last six and a half years. Smith joined Silversea in 1995 during its developmental stages and guided the company on a course of expansion and award-winning success. Under his direction the exclusive company grew from a two to four-ship fleet, and garnered an unprecedented six consecutive "World's Best Awards" from Conde Nast Traveler, including two times being named the number one travel experience among the world's Top 100.

"We are thrilled to have someone so universally well regarded in travel joining our team. Bill's vision, industry leadership and experience in luxury travel will be a critical element in the continued expansion and development of Noble House properties," said Colee.

"I am honored to be joining such a prestigious company and I look forward to blending my ultra-luxury cruise experience with Noble House's fresh and uncompromising approach to hotel management," Smith stated. "Whether cruising aboard the world's best ships or staying at one of the distinctive properties of Noble House, today's affluent travelers are looking for the same exacting service standards, genuine hospitality and enriching experiences."
